The operator of LoLb (hereinafter, “we”, “us” or the “Operator”) recognizes the importance of protecting information relating to users of the “LoLb” service (hereinafter, the “Service”) and establishes this privacy policy (hereinafter, this “Policy”) to explain how we handle such information (“User Information”).

By using the Service, you are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to the contents of this Policy.

This Service is not an official service of Riot Games, Inc. or its affiliates, and is not endorsed, sponsored or specifically approved by them. The handling of information collected and used by Riot Games, Inc. and its affiliates is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms, and falls outside the scope of this Policy.

1. Scope of this Policy

  1. This Policy applies to the handling of User Information that we obtain and use in connection with the Service (including the website provided under the domain lolb.site and related services).
  2. When a user uses external websites, external services or third-party applications that are linked from the Service, the privacy policies established by such third parties apply. We are not responsible for the handling of User Information by such external services.

2. Types of Information We Collect

In providing the Service, we may obtain the following categories of User Information. We obtain User Information only to the extent necessary for the functions and operation of the Service.

1) Information Provided Directly by Users

  1. Information entered or transmitted by users when registering an account for the Service, using Service functions, or making inquiries:
    • Nickname and user ID
    • Email address
    • Contents of inquiries
    • Any other information voluntarily entered into forms we provide
  2. If we introduce account linking with Riot Games (such as RSO/OAuth linking) and the user permits such linking, we may obtain the following information within the scope permitted by Riot Games:
    • Identifiers such as Riot ID associated with the Riot account
    • Match history, champion usage and similar data that may be obtained through APIs approved by Riot Games

2) Information Collected Automatically When Using the Service

When a user accesses the Service, we may automatically collect the following information:

  1. Access log information
    • IP address
    • Browser type and version
    • Operating system type and version
    • Referrer URL, access date and time, pages viewed, click history and similar information
  2. Device information
    • Type of device used (PC, smartphone, tablet, etc.)
    • Screen size, language settings and similar information
  3. Information obtained through cookies and similar technologies
    • Session IDs
    • Information necessary to maintain login status
    • Identifiers used to analyze usage and optimize advertising delivery

3) Statistical and Anonymized Information

We may create statistical or anonymized information processed such that individuals cannot be directly identified. Such information is used for purposes including improvement of the Service, generation of analytical information and enhancement of service quality.

3. Purposes of Use

We use User Information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and operate the Service, including providing each function of the Service such as the tactics planner, BAN/PICK simulator and Tier List creation features, and providing login functions, saving user settings and customizing displayed content.
  2. To improve and enhance the quality of the Service, including analyzing usage, planning and developing new functions and content, and detecting and troubleshooting bugs, failures and performance issues.
  3. To generate and provide statistical and analytical information, including calculating statistics such as champion win rates, favorable and unfavorable matchups, build trends and BAN/PICK trends, and providing analytical results and recommended builds based on such statistics.
  4. To respond to user inquiries, including confirming and responding to inquiries and contacting users regarding violations of the Terms of Use or other necessary matters.
  5. To prevent fraudulent or improper use of the Service, including detecting and preventing unauthorized access, spam, interference with the Service and other conduct that harms the sound operation of the Service, and investigating and responding to usage patterns suspected of violating Riot Games policies (including the Developer Policy and Game Integrity Policy).
  6. For advertising and marketing, including optimizing advertisements displayed within the Service and sending emails about Service updates and new features, only where the user has chosen to receive such communications.
  7. To comply with applicable laws and regulations, including responding to legal obligations to disclose information and responding to lawful requests from administrative agencies, courts and other public bodies.
  8. For purposes incidental to the purposes listed above.

4. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies

  1. We may use cookies and similar technologies in the Service. Cookies are used to identify a user's browser and to maintain login status and understand usage of the Service.
  2. Users may restrict or disable the use of cookies by changing browser settings. However, if cookies are restricted or disabled, some functions of the Service may not operate properly or convenience may be reduced.
  3. We may use cookies and similar technologies provided by third parties for access analytics and advertising delivery. In such cases, the handling of information collected and used by such third parties is governed by their respective privacy policies.

5. Provision of User Information to Third Parties

We will not provide User Information to third parties except in the following cases:

  1. Where we have obtained the user's prior consent
  2. Where provision is required under laws or regulations
  3. Where it is necessary to protect a person's life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain the user's consent
  4. Where it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children and it is difficult to obtain the user's consent
  5. Where it is necessary to cooperate with a national government organ, local government or a party entrusted by them in performing affairs prescribed by laws or regulations, and obtaining the user's consent may interfere with the performance of such affairs
  6. Where User Information is transferred as a result of succession of our business due to merger, company split, business transfer or other reasons
  7. Where User Information is provided in a form that does not identify individuals, such as statistical or anonymized information

6. Entrustment of Handling to Service Providers

  1. We may entrust all or part of the handling of User Information to third-party service providers within the scope necessary to provide and operate the Service, including server hosting, access analytics, email delivery and advertising distribution.
  2. When entrusting the handling of User Information, we select appropriate service providers and supervise them to the extent necessary to ensure that User Information is properly protected.

7. Retention Period

  1. We retain User Information only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use described in this Policy and within a reasonable period.
  2. However, where we are required by law or regulation to retain certain information for a specified period, we will retain such information for the period required by the applicable law or regulation.

8. Security Measures

We take necessary and appropriate security measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations to prevent unauthorized access to User Information and the loss, destruction, falsification or leakage of User Information.

However, due to the nature of the internet, it is not possible to eliminate all risks completely, and we do not guarantee security beyond what is reasonably achievable.

9. User Rights

  1. Users may request that we disclose, correct, add to, delete, suspend the use of, or suspend provision to third parties of their personal information retained by us.
  2. To make such a request, please contact us using the contact details set out in Section 16 (Contact). We may ask you to provide information necessary to verify your identity.
  3. We will respond to such requests in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and within a reasonable scope. However, we may not be able to comply with all or part of a request where we are not legally obligated to do so or where doing so would significantly impede the proper operation of the Service.

10. Analytics and Advertising Services

  1. We may use analytics services to understand how the Service is used and to improve and enhance the quality of the Service.
  2. We may also use third-party advertising services to display advertisements in the Service. In such cases, those third parties may use cookies and similar technologies to obtain information about users' access to the Service and other sites, and may deliver advertisements based on users' interests.
  3. Information collected and used by such third parties is handled in accordance with their respective privacy policies. Where necessary, we may provide additional information on the specific services used and how to opt out on our website.

11. Location Information and Sensitive Information

As a general rule, we do not obtain precise location information (such as GPS data) or sensitive categories of personal information (including beliefs, religion, health information or criminal history) relating to users.

12. International Data Transfers

Depending on the location of servers and cloud services used to operate the Service, User Information may be stored on or accessed from servers located outside Japan. In such cases, we take reasonable measures, with reference to the laws and regulations of the relevant countries and regions, to ensure that User Information is appropriately protected.

13. Personal Information of Minors

  1. When a minor uses the Service, the minor must obtain the consent of a parent or other legal guardian in accordance with the Terms of Use of the Service.
  2. We handle personal information obtained from minors appropriately in accordance with this Policy.

14. Relationship Between this Policy and the Terms of Use

  1. In addition to this Policy, the “LoLb Terms of Use” apply to the use of the Service by users.
  2. If there is any inconsistency between this Policy and the Terms of Use with respect to the handling of User Information, this Policy will prevail.

15. Changes to this Policy

  1. We may change the contents of this Policy in response to amendments to laws and regulations, changes to external services or changes to the contents of the Service.
  2. When we change this Policy, we will notify users of the contents and effective date of the revised Policy by posting it on the Service or by other methods we deem appropriate.
  3. If a user uses the Service on or after the effective date specified by us, the user will be deemed to have agreed to the revised Policy.
